Winter Storm Fern
A small photo collection of calm moments in nature after the storm

If you are in the United States, I hope you are doing well after the onslaught of Winter Storm Fern. While snow totals were more than we’ve seen in quite some time (around 12” in my area) and we will be digging out for days to come, we were spared the ice and power outages I know many others are facing.
Please take care as temperatures continue to plummet. I wish you safety and warmth.
Amanda

Your photos are beautiful. I was watching wildlife out the window with my cat today, but couldn’t see very well because the sun was so bright. Then, I looked down and realized I could see shadows of all the birds mingling in the bushes against the snow. It was quite lovely. I wouldn’t have been able to see that as well against the grass. Your green leaves and vivid birds stand out against the starkness of winter, too, helping me appreciate this facet of winter.
